Chris Eder is co-founder of Rebookly.
He started in digital marketing in 2017, studying lead generation and media buying while selling for an agency, then went out on his own running Facebook ads for small service businesses. The ads worked. What happened next often didn't.
He kept watching the same thing: a business would pay real money for a lead, the call would come in, nobody would pick up, and the callback either happened late or didn't happen at all. By the time anyone followed up, the customer had booked somewhere else. The clients rarely knew it was happening — a missed call leaves no trace, and neither does the appointment it would have become.
By 2020 he'd stopped thinking of it as a marketing problem. It was an operations problem: the follow-up work that decides whether a lead becomes a booking is exactly the work a busy team has no time to do. So he moved into building systems that did it automatically, and by 2021 into software full-time — without ever really leaving the ads side. He still works closely with agencies he trusts, and refers clinics to them rather than selling them advertising himself.
Rebookly is that work, aimed at one industry. It's built for Canadian health and wellness clinics running on Jane App, where the pattern is the same one he'd been watching for years — the enquiry nobody answered, the patient who meant to rebook and never did — and where the fix is making the follow-up happen on its own rather than asking the front desk to try harder.
